The website remembers a motion choice only when you explicitly save it. Browsing does not opt you into tracking.
A small preference, no advertising profile
This website does not install advertising cookies, marketing pixels, third-party analytics scripts, or a cross-site tracking identifier. You can browse without accepting optional storage. The website’s preference control is for animation, rather than an advertising-consent choice.
Cookies are small browser records commonly sent with requests to a website. Local storage is a different browser-storage technology. We explain both here because storage rules can apply to technologies beyond cookies, as described by the Information Commissioner’s Office guidance.
Optional motion preference
The website follows your device or browser’s reduced-motion preference unless you choose and save a website setting. You can choose System preference or Reduced motion in . Only an explicit Save writes a preference.
The record is named uselyt:preferences:v1 in this website’s local storage. It contains version 1, a motion value of system or reduced, and the time the choice was saved. Its sole purpose is to remember that choice in this browser. It contains no name, email address, account identifier, product record, or advertising identifier, and the website does not transmit the record to a server.
The record is optional. It remains until you clear it or your browser removes it. It is specific to this website origin and browser profile, so another browser or device can have a different preference. Changing a preference does not change your iPhone app settings.
Cloudflare security and delivery
Cloudflare delivers and protects the website and receives technical request information needed for those functions. The Uselyt site code does not set its own authentication or advertising cookies. Depending on enabled Cloudflare security features and the requests you make, Cloudflare may set technical cookies such as cf_clearance to remember a passed challenge or __cf_bm for its bot protection.
These examples are conditional; they do not mean those cookies are always active on Uselyt. Cloudflare controls their values and feature-dependent lifetimes. Its cookie documentation explains the purpose and duration of cookies used by its security products. Cloudflare security cookies are separate from the optional motion record and are not managed by the website’s motion control.
Changing or removing a preference
Open to change and explicitly save your motion choice. Use its reset control to remove the saved record and return to your system preference. You can also clear site data in your browser settings. Clearing browser data can remove settings from other websites as well, depending on the browser option you select.
Blocking local storage prevents the preference from being remembered across visits; the website can still be read. Browser controls can also block or remove cookies. Blocking a Cloudflare security cookie may cause another security challenge or affect access where that feature is enabled. This website’s preference control cannot clear cookies for another service.
Links, email, and the iPhone app
The website does not automatically load embedded third-party social widgets or external videos. If you follow an external link, the destination service may use its own cookies and privacy practices. An email link opens your chosen email application; a draft is not sent automatically.
The iPhone app’s local products, account credentials, and reminder settings are separate from browser storage. Optional photo analysis and account-data processing are explained in the Privacy Policy.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if website storage, security configuration, or tracking practices change. Any new optional use requiring consent will be presented before it is activated. The effective date records the current version of this notice.
